The sizes can be further categorized, and whether fiber-cement boards can achieve satisfactory results in the later stage also depends on the product’s safety. The operational procedures can be specifically understood in light of the points mentioned above. So, what are the key precautions for installing fiber-reinforced cement boards?
What are the precautions for constructing fiber-reinforced cement boards?

1. Walls can be constructed in two ways: either with single-layer light steel framing and fiber-cement boards fixed on both sides, or with double-layer light steel framing and fiber-cement boards arranged in a staggered pattern and fixed to the framing on both sides. The cavities should be filled with rock wool or other thermal insulation materials, depending primarily on the requirements of sound insulation design for the partition wall or partition itself. The thickness of the fiber-cement plaster should be 8–10 mm for the interior wall and 12 mm for the exterior wall, with the smooth surface facing outward. Abroad, layered construction methods or slotted joint methods are commonly employed. Fiber-reinforced cement boards...
2. In areas with high humidity, such as bathrooms and shower rooms, tiles should be adhered to the surface of the board with the rough side facing outward. After confirming that the moisture content of the board is below 10%, apply a sealant to the board surface. Once the sealant has dried, use AB adhesive to bond the tiles. Under no circumstances should you use cement mortar, as this could cause the fiber cement board to come loose.
3. The light steel stud framework for fixing wall panels—must be smooth, stable, and have reliable nail-holding strength.
4. When fixing fiber-cement boards, be sure to start from the center of the board and gradually extend the fastening outward in all directions. This approach helps prevent improper fastening that could create internal stresses, leading to an uneven board surface. Fiber-reinforced cement boards
5. When fixing cement pressure boards with self-tapping screws, the screw spacing should be as follows: 200 mm within ceiling panels, 300 mm in the middle of wall panels, and 200 mm around the perimeter. The screw holes should be located 13–15 mm from the center edge of the board, and the screw heads should be recessed 0.3 mm below the surface of the board.
6. After each nail is securely fastened, immediately apply primer to the nail heads to prevent rusting and maintain the overall aesthetic appearance.
7. On the fiber-cement board that has been securely fixed, draw lines for the areas where holes are to be drilled, making the lines slightly larger than the actual dimensions of the holes. If the holes are square, drill a 10-mm-diameter hole at each corner of the square. Then, use a portable marble saw to cut along the marked lines. If the holes are round, first drill a hole at the center of the inner circle, and then use a jigsaw to cut along the marked line. After cutting, drill another 10-mm-diameter hole and remove any burrs. The examples mentioned above pertain to knowledge about fiber-cement boards, commonly known as... Fiber-reinforced cement board It’s made with ordinary cement.
Cement and reinforcing materials are the primary raw materials for building cement boards, boasting excellent performance and extensive applications in the construction industry. Across various industrial sectors, cement boards can be categorized—based on the type of fiber—into either asbestos-cement boards or non-asbestos fiber cement boards. Cement boards are further differentiated according to their forming process.
